Meet Jamisyn Atlas
Jamisyn's challenging childhood illustrated the profound impact that mental health has on our lives. Watching her loved ones struggle with mental health issues, as well as having mental health struggles of her own, deepened her compassion and fueled her passion to help others.
With a Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Chapman University and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology & Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine, Jamisyn has committed herself to supporting those in need.
She has worked in a variety of settings, including a partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient eating disorder facility, an LGBTQ+ center, a domestic violence shelter, and low-cost outpatient clinics. Jamisyn feels truly honored to walk alongside individuals and their families on their mental health journeys, providing the support and understanding necessary to foster healing within the community—because she believes that everyone deserves compassion and care, including you.
Get To Know Me
What would your clients and colleagues say is your therapist superpower?
Clients and colleagues have shared that my greatest strength as a therapist lies in my ability to offer insight. It can be very challenging to see a situation clearly when you’re right in the middle of it. Having a caring, outside perspective can provide the clarity you need to explore new ways to respond as you move forward.
What is one thing that you have learned through your own therapy?
As someone who has personally experienced therapy, my most significant takeaway has been understanding what makes Jamisyn Atlas uniquely herself and accepting her as the imperfect human she is. I am dedicated to helping you learn how to nurture yourself with loving kindness throughout your therapeutic journey so that you can embrace your authentic self as a lifelong practice.
What was your path to becoming a therapist? What inspired you to choose this profession?
Having navigated my own journey through mental health challenges, the support of a caring therapist empowered me to overcome my struggles rather than suffer in pain alone. Therapy facilitated deep healing within me, and I am committed to giving back and supporting others on their healing journeys. Life is precious, and I truly believe we should strive to live it to the fullest.
